The chief minister of Karnataka has said that all the people of the state will get enrolled for their aadhaar by June 2014. He said that 2.4 crore people have already been delivered their aadhaar cards whereas 2.2 crore people have completed the procedure of aadhaar enrollment. The government has also planned to setup more enrollment centers so that the registration process is speeded up.

Aadhaar based LPG subsidy scheme has already been launched by the government. Within the launch of 6 weeks of the LPG subsidy scheme, 2.3 million transactions were done and these transactions generated an amount of Rs 91 crore into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The minister of oil and petroleum Mr. M Veerappa Moily said that the LPG subsidy project is a tremendous success. He also added that 1.25 million families have took benefit from this scheme. The implementation of this scheme was done in 19 districts in which 7.2 million LPG consumers were covered and 600 LPG gas distributors were included in making this project a success.

As the implementation of LPG subsidy scheme turns out to be a tremendous success in 19 districts it can be said that the scheme will be implemented in all over the country from next year in January. The finance minister of India Mr. P Chidambaram said that the prohect will be launched in other parts of the country by the end of the year. The government is trying hard to cover most of the districts of the country before the time comes for 2014 general elections. When the project was launched on pilot basis in 18 districts some expected problems were seen which will be taken care of when the project will be launched in other parts of the country.
